To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter in recommendation of Michele Dillon. I work with Michele on a biweekly basis in the “sensory break room” of the Vineyard Church in Westerville, Ohio. The sensory break room is a classroom for young autistic children, that is an option for children who have difficulty functioning in a regular Sunday school class. Our children range from 3 year up to 9 years in age. It is lead by specialists who work with special needs children professionally, such as myself. I am a Speech Language Pathologist, and I am one of the co-leaders. There are volunteers, such as Michele, who become buddies with a child for the morning and share their special talents.
Michele not only relates well with the students, but also offers her musical skills to our setting. The children love her and her positive, fun-loving disposition. When children need re-direction she is firm, but also skilled at diverting attention and motivating a child back to a more appropriate behavior. She is a team player and has good judgment in filling in the jobs that need to be done, so that the class runs smoothly. Michele plays the keyboard and sings to help entertain our children. She adapts music at times to go along with a lesson. She also encourages children to play songs on the keyboard and to interact with each other. She is dependable in “showing up” to help consistently and has been a wonderful addition to our team of teachers.
Michele learns from others and adapts to new situations easily. If given an opportunity, she would be a positive addition to any staff.
Sincerely,
Vicky Baertsche, Speech Language Pathologist in Worthington City Schools
